Susan Yarzab was born October 7, 1950. I want to nominate her for Racing 2 Cure Hero of the Week. In John 14, Jesus comforts his disciples by telling of the many dwelling places that He has prepared for those who believe. Susan believed and therefore went to her new home March the 11, 2011. Susan has been dearly missed but we will always have fond memories of the ways that she touched our lives. She was so giving to those in need. Oftentimes going without herself so that family, friends, and her family of pets could have their needs met. Susan loved cats. If she could speak to us today she would say to us I am now standing tall. I have seen his face, my long battle with cancer has given me a passage to his heavenly kingdom.
We were in radiation, with different doctors. God joined us together as sisters. She had been a 10 year survivor of breast cancer. After fighting it and surviving for 10 years, she went through radiation and got rid of all the brain tumors that she
had. Later she was diagnosed with cancer on her vocal cords. She had one treatment and then decided no more no more.
She was my angel, she showed me how to be strong. Susan showed me how to face life or death or whatever God has in store for you. She always had a beautiful smile no matter what. She chose soft music and lit candles instead of pain medication. She showed me how with faith, you could be totally bedfast and come up out of that bed.
Susan showed me so much love and caring, she was the most caring person I have ever met. She had no husband and no children because she gave her life to everyone that she came into contact with. She had a mother and a sister that she, for a while, was not ready to leave. She was determined to go home and look out her window, watch her cats, listen to music, and light her candles. She told me when God was ready to take her home she was ready. Not one minute before because she wanted to spend every little bit of time she had with her mom, her sister, and her cat. She gave me courage.
