Sandra Kay Hill, better known as the mother of DeAngelo Williams, was a woman of great integrity who lived to love for the people of Charlotte and the Carolina Panthers community.
She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, which she survived, but the cancer began to return in 2010. She and her son, DeAngelo, were largely responsible for the NFL's commitment to wearing pink in October to promote breast cancer awareness.
She dedicated her life to raising awareness about the disease that took the lives of her four sisters, and that would eventually claim her life in May of 2014. She has been and will continue to be an inspiration to many. The lives she has saved through her efforts may never be known, but will always be appreciated.
